About

John Bartoldus

Growing up in New York City John always liked to draw, but with no formal art education, he went to work on Wall Street and then for an advertising agency before moving to Naples in 1987 to pursue yet another career, real estate.
At his open houses, John would sit in the front yard and sketch and then give the artwork to the owner when he sold the house. Soon, other realtors and homeowners commissioned John to draw their homes.
With a growing portfolio of local scenes, he created his first Naples Calendar in 1998 and it quickly became a best seller at fine stores throughout Naples. In 2002, John added a Restaurant Guide and a list of year-round activities from parades to art shows and festivals. He loved Naples and the Neapolitans that live and vacation there.
The Naples Calendar and Restaurant Guide was his love and his gift to the people that love Naples as much as he did.
Tragically, John passed away on October 15, 2022. In his honor, John’s family took over the delivery of the 2023 calendar and is dedicated to keeping his art and his love of Naples alive. His family is pleased to keep production of the 2024 Naples Calendar and Restaurant Guide alive in his honor, using his large portfolio of artwork. The plan is to continue production of the Naples Calendar and Restaurant Guide for the next several years.
He loved adventure, art and Naples. Your continued patronage not only celebrates his incredible talent but ensures that his artistic legacy lives on in the heart of Naples.
Thank you for your support and for being a part of his story.
